Hi, I’m Take — born and raised in Fujinomiya. On this blog, I share practical, local tips so you can enjoy the area like a local.
Today’s Overview
Welcome to the gateway of Shizuoka! If you’ve just stepped off the Shinkansen at Shin-Fuji Station, you’re in for a treat. The weather is a bit moody with a layer of heavy clouds, but Mt. Fuji is standing tall and sharp underneath them. Even in the middle of the city landscape, its presence is absolutely overwhelming today.
• Weather: Overcast with high visibility below the cloud line.
• Temperature: A brisk 4°C (39°F). The wind near the coast (Fuji City) can feel a bit sharper than inland, so stay bundled up!
The Highlights
• Visibility: 8/10
The peak is crystal clear! The gray clouds actually act like a frame, making the white snow on the summit pop even more. From the station area, you get that cool “urban meets nature” shot with buildings and power lines in the foreground.
• Snow Conditions:
The snowcap is perfect right now. It looks like a thick layer of powdered sugar has been poured over the top third of the mountain. This is peak winter beauty.
• Take’s Local Tip:
Right outside Shin-Fuji Station (North Exit), you’ll find some of the best “street-level” views. Don’t worry about the cables and signs in your photos—they add a gritty, authentic “Daily Life in Japan” vibe to your shots!
