Hi, I’m Take — born and raised in Fujinomiya. On this blog, I share practical, local tips so you can enjoy the area like a local.
Today’s Snapshot
What a surprise! Even though it’s mid-February, it feels like spring has arrived early in Fujinomiya today. The sun is out, and the air is incredibly mild.
• Weather: Crystal Clear ☀️
• Temperature: A surprising 16°C (61°F)! It’s exceptionally warm for this time of year.
• Overall Impression: It’s a perfect day for a light jacket or even just a sweater. The mountain looks majestic against the deep blue sky, and the warmth makes wandering around the city a total joy.
Highlights & Conditions
• Visibility Score: 10/10 🏔️
The visibility is absolute perfection. From the “Cafe Terrace Lemon” area where I took this photo, you can see the sharp contrast of the snow against the dark volcanic rock. There’s no haze at all!
• Snow Situation:
The snow cap is still very thick and beautiful, but with this 16°C warmth, you might see a bit of “snow-smoke” (fine snow blowing off the peak) if the wind picks up later.
• Local Tip for Travelers:
Since it’s so warm, it’s a great day to grab some Fujinomiya Yakisoba and eat outside at “Omiya Yokocho” near the Sengen Taisha Shrine. You won’t need your heavy winter gear today!
[!TIP]
In spring, the Urui River offers a miracle view where you can see cherry blossoms, yellow canola flowers, and Mt. Fuji all at once!
