Hi, I’m Take — born and raised in Fujinomiya.
On this blog I share practical, local tips for visitors so you can enjoy the area like a friend of a local.
Why this place stands out
- Local craft beer with home-grown hops — fresh aroma and a clear, lively character.
- Hunter-run kitchen serving venison and wild boar—a natural match with a hoppy pint.
- Warm, wood-forward interior that feels cozy whether you’re solo or with friends.
- Welcoming for travelers — when I visited, international guests were enjoying their beers, and the staff were kind and fun to chat with.
- My pick: I’m an IPA person, and the Rive IPA hit the spot with its balanced bitterness and hop aroma.
What it felt like when I visited
Stepping out from Sengen Taisha’s torii into a light breeze, I pushed open the wooden door and a gentle wave of hop aroma met me.
One sip of Rive IPA and that quiet, steady bitterness spread — the miles I’d walked simply melted away.
At the counter, English and Japanese mingled as travelers clinked glasses, and the staff’s bright, easy kindness made it effortless to settle in.
Even as a local, it reminded me how close Fujinomiya’s nature and people feel here — a place I’m proud to recommend.
Perfect stop after visiting Sengen Taisha
The taproom sits just steps from Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha. It’s the kind of place you can pop in after your shrine visit or a leisurely stroll. Wrapping up your walk with good beer and hearty food while gazing toward Mt. Fuji? Hard to beat.
